Inflation expectations of Ukrainian business down to lowest ever level, says NBU

Inflation expectations of heads of Ukrainian enterprises for the next 12 months fell to the lowest figure since the polls have been conducted, reads a posting on the Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

"Respondents expect that growth in the prices of purchased goods and services and products made by enterprises will slow in the next 12 months," reads the report, referring to the results of a quarterly poll of heads of enterprises conducted by the central bank in February 2013.

The NBU said that the key factor which will define the increase in consumer prices is growth in expenses on production, say respondents, while the impact of monetary factors has considerably reduced.

"Respondents improved the positive assessment of prospects for the development of their enterprises for the next three and 12 months in all directions of economic activity," reads the report.

According to the document, 1,261 companies from all regions of the country, representing the main types of economic activity, types of ownership and the number of employees, were polled.
