AeroSvit denies hindering access of state labor inspectorate officials to check airline

Kyiv-based AeroSvit has denied reports that the airline has hindered access for officials of the state inspectorate for labor who wanted to check the airline, the press service of AeroSvit reported on Thursday.

The press service said that the inspectorate checked the airline and an act on the results of the check was submitted to the company on March 23, 2013.

In addition, in January-March 2013, AeroSvit was checked by the Boryspil united state tax inspectorate jointly with State Tax Service in Kyiv region (the scheduled comprehensive check), tax police, Prosecutor General's Office in Kyiv region and the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

Today unscheduled checks by the Boryspil united state tax inspectorate, the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market and an investigation by the Interior Ministry of Ukraine are underway.

"AeroSvit's officials have provided and are continuing to provide all possible aid to all of the inspection agencies," reads the press release.

The airline said that neither the large number of checks nor the wide range of inspectorates involved in the checks influenced the settling of a problem of returning illegally blocked funds, which resulted in the stoppage of its payments to employees, contractors and passengers.

"The many checks on the observation of the lawfulness of the operation of AeroSvit also did not help resume the airline's cooperation with creditors, or resume its operation and solvency," the airline said.

Earlier Social Policy Minister Natalia Korolevska said that AeroSvit did not allow officials of the labor inspectorate to conduct checks.
