Intercity+ trains carry 1 m passengers as of March 21

Ukrainian Railway High-Speed Company since the launch of the Intercity+ trains produced by Hyundai Rotem Korean company from May 27, 2012 to March 21 carried one million of passengers.

As the press service of State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia reported, a citizen of Kharkiv, Olena, who arrived in Kyiv, was the millionth passenger. Director of Ukrainian Railway High-Speed Company Leonid Loboiko and Director of Hyundai Corporation office in Ukraine Choi Jung Suk presented the winner with a new car.

Loboiko said that loading of Intercity+ trains in March 2013 had reached 50%, while in 2012 it was about 48%. He also added that thanks to introduction of the flexible tariff system in the first class trains, passengers are more actively buying tickets 45 days before travel.

Ukrainian Railway High-Speed Company is specially created enterprise in the structure of Ukrzaliznytsia, which was charged with organizing high-speed movement in Ukraine. On May 25, 2012 a first promotion trip to Kyiv-Lviv was made.

Today the enterprise operates 12 interregional dual system high-speed electric trains: ten electric trains made by Hyundai Rotem and two electric trains made by Skoda Vagonka company.
