MHP acquiring agro-firm in Cherkasy region

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has permitted private joint-stock company Urozhay firm (Cherkasy region), which belongs to one of the largest agro-holdings in Ukraine – Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) - to grain control over the Mriya private company (Cherkasy region), reads a report of the committee.

The report says that the acquisition will give Urozhay over 50% of the votes in the management bodies of the private company.

According to the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market, MHP holds a 90% stake in Urozhay firm, and an individual holds a 10% stake.

Mriya's core business is agricultural production. In 2011, its net sales income came to UAH 10.5 million, which is 48.3% up on 2010. Its 2011 net profit stood at UAH 2.4 million, compared to UAH 300,000 the year before.

An individual owned the company earlier.
