Canada plans to allocate about UAH 92 million by the end of 2026 to strengthen Ukraine's cybersecurity, according to a statement by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

According to the ministry's statement on Wednesday, within the framework of the Tallinn Mechanism, Ukraine has completed the first five projects worth more than UAH 55 million funded by the Canadian government.

In particular, these projects helped improve authentication security for the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, strengthen analytics and cyber defense for the staff of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), protect wireless networks at the Cabinet of Ministers Secretariat, modernize the cybersecurity infrastructure of the State Judicial Administration, and automate cyber defense management at the State Border Guard Service.

"According to the Microsoft Digital Defense Report 2025, Ukraine ranks fifth in the world and third in Europe by number of cyberattacks, so in response we are adopting systemic solutions," Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for Cybersecurity and Cloud Technologies Vitaliy Balashov said in the statement.

As reported, Finland will also allocate EUR 1 million by the end of 2026 to strengthen the cyber resilience of Ukraine's civilian and critical infrastructure within the Tallinn Mechanism.

The Tallinn Mechanism was established in December 2023 to coordinate international support for Ukraine's cybersecurity. It includes 14 countries: the United Kingdom, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, the United States, Finland, France, Sweden and the Czech Republic. The European Union, NATO and the World Bank participate as official observers. Finland joined the mechanism in October 2025.
