Ukrposhta launches first 70 parcel terminals in Kyiv, parcel management app

JSC Ukrposhta is launching the first 70 parcel terminals in Kyiv and a parcel management feature in the Ukrposhta 2.0 mobile app. The company plans to open another 30 terminals in Odesa in a few weeks.

"Now you can send your parcels within Ukraine for free (if they haven’t reached the parcel office yet) from AliExpress or Temu: to a parcel terminal (yes, no extra charge) or to another parcel office, extend the storage period, or change the recipient," Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky wrote on Telegram on Tuesday.

According to him, if a parcel is already at a branch and the customer needs another branch or parcel terminal, it is possible to redirect the parcel at the standard rate.

It is noted that the parcel will be stored in the parcel terminal free of charge for up to seven days; after that, if the customer does not pick it up, it will be sent to the nearest branch.

Ukrposhta’s CEO clarified that prepaid parcels will be available for delivery to parcel terminals for the first few weeks, while the company plans to launch in-app payments in a few weeks.

"Ukrposhta plans to launch around 1,000 parcel terminals by the end of this year (and maybe more, if you like)," Smelyansky added.

"We have many exciting changes planned for the near future, which we’ve been working on for a long time (sometimes too long, I admit), but now we’re happy to make these changes available to you at the best rates on the market! Take advantage of them and give us your feedback," noted the CEO of Ukrposhta.

Ukrposhta, for its part, clarified that corporate clients who work with the company via API now also have the ability to manage their shipments.

The national postal operator also announced that Ukrposhta will continue to offer redirection options for those submitting applications at physical branches for several weeks. However, after the transition period, all in-branch applications will be cancelled and transferred to the app to reduce queues.

JSC Ukrposhta is a national postal operator that provides postal, logistics, financial, and trade services to private and corporate clients. The company has over 6,000 branches and 26,000 service points throughout Ukraine.
