Previously, President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine Vadym Guttsait stated that he expects that at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy Ukraine will perform successfully, as at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris (France). Ukraine with 12 awards took 22nd position in the medal standings of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Minister of Youth and Sports Matviy Bidny said Ukraine will be happy with any victories of Ukrainian athletes at the 2026 Winter Olympics. At the same time, he added that at all recent Winter Olympic Games Ukraine won a maximum of one medal each, so this can be extrapolated to today’s conditions.
