Ukrainian drone manufacturer F-Drones is launching a simulator for training FPV operators – on Independence Day, anyone can get free access to the game on Steam. The company announced this on its social media.
“On August 24, we are launching the F-Drones Simulator on Steam. This is a simulator of combat FPV scenarios for practicing piloting and performing missions in conditions as close to real ones as possible. It contains models of our drones, their physics and characteristics; the result is affected by the terrain, battery, radio horizon, communication, electronic warfare and the configuration of the drone itself. On Independence Day, users from Ukraine will be able to get the simulator for free. How - we will explain exactly in steps on the morning of August 24. Stay tuned,” – F-Drones wrote.
As the company noted, F-Drones added its own drone models, their physics and tactical and technical characteristics, developed missions of varying complexity, and involved the military to reproduce various communication configurations.
F-Drones also reported that this simulator will be used for military training. A limited version will be released on Steam. Separately, there is an expanded non-public version for military and training centers. It has more functions and scenarios that are not in the open game. The expanded version is provided to verified military and training centers upon request.
F-Drones CEO Stanislav Khutor told DOU that before practical training, pilots must fly in a drone for at least 10 hours. According to him, this is how the American military will be trained.
As previously reported, F-Drones has become the first Ukrainian company to export ready-made combat drones to the US. It has already supplied the Pentagon with 2,000 F10 FPV attack drones as part of the Drone Dominance project.
