Ukraine will broadcast Russian TV channel Dozhd in Divan.tv multimedia service package
Kyiv, September 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian TV channel Dozhd will be broadcast in Ukraine in a package offered by the Divan.tv multimedia service.
"Entering Ukraine is a very important step for us, and we hope for a long-term partnership. We know that Ukraine knows and love us, and we want be present here not just via the Internet and only via piracy, but also legally and officially," ideologist and CEO of the Dozhd television channel Natalia Sindeyeva said at the press conference hosted by Interfax-Ukraine.
She said that Dozhd TV channel is the first interactive channel in Russia, which about three-and-a-half years ago started broadcasting over the Internet. Today it is predominantly an information channel. At the initiative of Divan.tv, the TV channel will be a part of a package of this multimedia service, which will broadcast not only on the territory of Ukraine, but in Russia as well.
"This is a serious decision for us, we're aspiring together with Divan.tv to develop and grow the market of Pay TV, jointly broadening the audience culture, making them prepared to pay for quality legal content," Sindeyeva stressed.
Besides, according to her, from September 23 Dozhd was introducing a paid model. It will concern the Web site of the TV channel, as well as all applications. The access to Dozhd on the Web site will also be partially paid. In particular, live broadcasts could be watched only on subscription, annual or daily. Text news will be free of charge.
As founder of the Divan.tv multimedia service Andrei Kolodyuk said, now the audience of Dozhd in Ukraine totals 300,000 people. Ukrainian viewers of the TV channel now will receive access to Divan.tv on a range of devices: Smart TVs, media players, www.divan.tv, and tablet computers (Android and Apple iOS).
The package Divan.tv, which includes 90 TV channels, will cost a total UAH 29 per month.
