Ukraine, together with dozens of co-sponsoring countries, on Thursday, July 11, submits to the UN General Assembly a draft resolution on "Safety and security of Ukraine's nuclear facilities, including the Zaporizhia NPP," Ukraine's representative to the UN Serhiy Kyslitsia said.
"The draft resolution of the General Assembly recalls that at the Summit [Peace Summit in Switzerland] it was noted that any use of nuclear energy and nuclear installations should be safe, protected, reliably protected and not harm the environment and that Ukrainian nuclear power plants and installations, in particular the NPP, should remain under full sovereign control under the control of Ukraine in accordance with the principles of the IAEA," Kyslytsia wrote on Twitter.
He pointed out that 55 States, including the G7 countries, had become co-sponsors of the draft resolution.
