Parliament to listen to report by SBU chief on functioning of security service on March 17

The Ukrainian parliament will listen to a report by the Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Valentyn Nalyvaichenko on the service's functioning at its meeting on March 17.

A total of 233 MPs out of the 417 registered in the parliament's session hall voted for the decision on Friday.

The parliament also declared expedient the creation of an ad hoc interim commission on the reform of the SBU.

The parliament also recommended that the SBU chief immediately initiate a review of the approved decisions on the appointment of officials at the SBU and its subdivisions, so that they are brought into line with the Constitution and other laws.
