Ukraine, France to sign in April cooperation agreement on holding Euro 2012
Ukraine and France are planning to sign an agreement in April on cooperation in holding the Euro 2012 European football championship, and in the autumn a road map for cooperation until 2011, Vice Premier Hryhoriy Nemyria told reporters on Thursday.
He said this was agreed during Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko's visit to France on Wednesday. France has already successfully hosted the European championship and its experience will be useful to Ukraine, he said.
"Such an agreement could be worked out in the upcoming months and signed as early as in April," Nemyria said.
He also said that Ukrainian and French premiers Tymoshenko and Francois Fillon agreed to elaborate a roadmap of cooperation for 2010-2011.
The roadmap will guide cooperation on the implementation of investment projects and projects of cooperation in various sectors of the economy, the vice-premier added.
According to Nemyria, this document is to be signed this fall during the French premier's visit to Ukraine.
