Ukraine's state budget to be amended in April-May, says president

The state budget of Ukraine for 2009 will be amended in April-May 2009, President Viktor Yuschenko has said.

"We agreed today that budget amendments would be introduced on the results of work [shown] in the first quarter. Thus, April and May are the months when the Ukrainian side is ready to amend the state budget," he told journalists after a council on coordinating the activities of all branches of power and political forces amid critical conditions for economic development in Kyiv on Monday.

Yuschenko said that the agreement was reached at a council meeting on Monday.
