Kyiv's Court of Appeals leaves Tymoshenko under arrest

Kyiv's Court of Appeals has found no grounds to release former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko from custody.

An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the court issued a respective ruling on Thursday at a preliminary session on the hearing of the appeal lodged against Tymoshenko's seven-year prison sentence.

Thus, the court rejected a petition filed by the ex-premier's defense team to change the measure of restraint for Tymoshenko to one other than arrest.
