Tymoshenko needs surgery, says lawyer

Former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko needs surgery, her lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk has said.

"According to a conclusion of well-known Ukrainian experts, in particular a correspondent member of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medicine Mykola Polischuk, who is an expert in neurosurgery, Yulia Volodymyrivna needs surgery. Everybody knows that surgery is impossible in Kyiv's detention facility," the lawyers said during a hearing at Kyiv's Court of Appeals on Thursday, while explaining his petition on changing Tymoshenko's restraint.
