Representatives of European Committee for Prevention of Torture visit Tymoshenko in jail, says defense team

Representatives of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture have made an unscheduled visit to former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko in jail, head of Tymoshenko's defense team Serhiy Vlasenko has said.

"The Europeans were baffled by the facade arranged by the prison service. On the eve of the visit, at night Tymoshenko was urgently transferred to the infirmary, and the actual meeting took place in a room smelling of fresh paint," the press service of the Batkivschyna party quoted Vlasenko as saying on Wednesday.
