Yanukovych orders creation of 'European' conditions for Tymoshenko's detention in prison

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed the competent authorities to adhere to European standards in the issue of the detention of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

"I have recently heard a lot of comments from the lawyers of former Prime Minister Tymoshenko regarding Tymoshenko's detention in prison, and I have given instructions to all agencies that are dealing with this issue to create the conditions that are currently envisaged at the European level. The issue concerns medical treatment, examination and detention," he said at a joint press conference with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski in Kyiv on Monday.
