The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is preparing for the EU-Ukraine summit on December 19 and knows nothing about the participation of Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych in the meeting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) in Moscow on the same day.
"As a rule, we do not comment on reports citing [unnamed] sources. The preparations for the EU-Ukraine summit are going according to the instructions of the president," Director of the Information Policy Department of the Interior Ministry Oleh Voloshyn told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
He also added that the Foreign Ministry didn't have any information about the participation of the Ukrainian president in a meeting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council.
As reported, a source from the EurAsEC Secretariat reported on Wednesday that the Ukrainian president would visit Moscow on December 19 to attend a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) Interstate Council. Meanwhile, the EU-Ukraine summit, where an association agreement with the EU may be initialled, is scheduled for December 19 in Kyiv.
