Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) has said that that the authorities have taken measures to ensure that Freedom Day celebrations are safe.
"The city authorities are inviting all interested political and public organizations to submit applications for holding events in the areas where preparatory work for the New Year and Christmas holidays is not being conducted," the administration's press service said in a statement.
In particular, the administration proposed that such events be held on European, Bessarabska and Kontraktova and other squares.
"The city authorities are ready to provide any assistance in the realization of civil initiatives," administration said.
According to the administration, applications for holding rallies on Independence Square have been filed by the Committee for the Release of Political Prisoners, the Orange Revolution Participants Coalition, and the Military Union of Ukraine.
The administration said that "the safety of citizens during mass events was a major task not only for law enforcement agencies, but also for the city authorities."
