Weapons sent to Ukraine by Italy cannot be used to hit Russian territory – FM
Weapons sent to Ukraine by Italy cannot be used to hit Russian territory, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said.
"We must support Ukraine and its army for its self-defense, and at the same time Italy will continue to work for peace. But we cannot think about providing weapons to defeat Russian territory," Di Maio said in an interview with Rai3.
According to the minister, on the other hand, there is no certainty that if we stop supporting Ukraine, the war will end.
"I see that there are many opinions about ending support for the Ukrainian people, but no one is sure that when we stop supporting Ukraine, Putin will stop. He may go further. Russia has invaded Ukraine, and today we must reach a diplomatic agreement to stop the war and at the same time support the Ukrainians," Di Maio stressed.
