EU intends to warn China about consequences of Beijing's aid to Russia - EC chief

European leaders during the EU-China virtual summit plan to convey to Chinese President Xi Jinping their position that economic or military assistance to the Russian Federation will ruin China's international reputation, Bloomberg reports the words of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Friday.

"No European citizen would understand any support to Russia’s ability to wage war. It would lead to major reputational damage for China here in Europe," she said.

According to the President of the European Commission, China must protect the sovereignty of Ukraine and urge the Russian Federation to respect international law.

The EU-China summit will be held on Friday. As expected, the events in Ukraine and their global dimension will be the main topic of the meeting.
