Russia continues the air offensive operation against Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus has become another center for buildup of Russian troops, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
"From 00:00 on February 27, the Russian aggressors made 5 air and 16 missile strikes," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Facebook on Sunday.
According to the report, the Republic of Belarus has become another center of concentration of the occupying troops.
"A total of 10 helicopters from the 15th AA brigade, which is based in the settlement of Ostrov in Pskov region, as well as 2 An-124 aircraft of the aerospace forces, were deployed to the Machulishchi airfield; 4 Su-34 fighter-bombers to the Baranovichi airfield.
Having regrouped the troops, the enemy is carrying out offensive operations trying to come to Kyiv.
In turn, the defense forces of Kyiv are successfully defending the city under the leadership of Commander of the defense of Kyiv, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky and Commandant of the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Serhiy Sobko.
"The grouping of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces was withdrawn from naval bases with the task of hitting the surface forces of the Ukrainian Navy. The enemy made attempts to land an amphibious assault in the Chornomorsk area. The enemy landing force has been destroyed," the operational summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
According to the General Staff, units of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces are also involved in the hostilities.
"The enemy continues to commit war crimes by shelling the peaceful Ukrainian cities of Kharkiv and Balakliya. Desperate defense of the city of Kherson is going on," the General Staff said.
