NATO and Ukraine have discussed the details of possible cooperation in the creation of a general European anti-missile defense system.
"I realized at an early stage that Ukraine is interested in this," NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Dirk Brengelmann told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday.
He said that he tackled the issue during a meeting with representatives of the presidential administration on Thursday.
"We noted significant interest in the anti-missile defense system from our Ukrainian colleagues," he noted.
According to Brengelmann, at the current stage the issue of bilateral consultations and details of possible cooperation have to be discussed.
"We have clear up details of cooperation with Russia in this area, and then we will have ideas about cooperation with Ukraine," he said.
