Ambassador of all EU states and Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira has stated that results of the upcoming parliamentary election could be disputed if Batkivschyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko and other opposition leaders do not run in the election, reads a posting on the Web site of the Batkivschyna Party.
"If the most popular opposition figure, who lost the presidential campaign by a small margin, or other opponents of the authorities, cannot participate in the upcoming election to the Verkhovna Rada, then its results would be doubtful," the ambassador said in an interview with the Delovaya Stolitsa newspaper.
The next parliamentary election in Ukraine is scheduled for the autumn of 2012.
