Due to the absence of the member of Luhansk City Council, Roman Landyka, who is accused of beating up a woman, at his place of residence, the official has been put on a wanted list, the Public Relations Department of Ukraine's Interior Ministry reported on Saturday.
The prosecutor's office of Luhansk region opened a criminal case against the official on charges of disorderly conduct (Part 3 of Article 296) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on July 7, the department said.
Earlier media reported that member of Luhansk City Council Roman Landyk beat up a young woman, who was seating at another table in a restaurant. This incident was recorded on video and the clip was posted on the Internet.
The injured woman, aged 20, is currently staying at the neurological department of Luhansk hospital with concussion and bruises.
Landyk is the son of MP Volodymyr Landyk of the Party of Regions.
