Ukraine is ready to share its experience in developing a long-term national space program with Indonesia, officials say.
Officials of the State Space Agency of Ukraine and delegates of the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space of Indonesia (LAPAN) discussed bilateral cooperation in the space sector in Kyiv on Friday, Interfax-Ukraine learned at Ukraine's space agency.
"At this stage, Indonesia regards Ukraine's assistance in preparing a national space program of Indonesia for the next ten years as a key area of bilateral cooperation, as is the provision of technological support for the program," the agency's interlocutor said.
Indonesia has shown great interest in the national space program of Ukraine for 2008-2012 and the plan of the space program of Ukraine for 2013-2017," he said.
During the talks, the parties also discussed the need to prepare and sign a five-year plan of bilateral cooperation in the space sector.
As reported, Ukraine and Indonesia signed a framework intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the exploration and use of space for peaceful purposes.
The agreement came into force in March 2011.
