Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said he hopes for public support for the reforms in the country and is counting on assistance from the media in this matter.
"It's very important, and this work has been poor... we need to keep in touch with civil society at all times. Therefore, this work will be intensified. We will be contacting people and social organizations more and more. We will clarify, explain to people what we are doing, why we are doing this, and how it will work... And I am here asking the media to help us in these matters," Yanukovych said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
The president said Ukraine has no future without the reforms. At the same time, he admitted that errors had been made.
"Nobody's perfect," the president said.
Yanukovych said a great number of laws and about 800 regulations on implementing these laws had been passed since the policy of reforms was launched.
