Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said he has never taken an imporper attitude towards former Ukrainian Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party Leader Yulia Tymoshenko.
"I'm trying not to interfere in these processes and make rash conclusions. I've never insulted or humiliated Tymoshenko, and I've never allowed myself to make insulting remarks about Tymoshenko. I've never allowed myself this as a person, as a man and as president," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
Yanukovych pointed out that the law enforcement agencies are to make conclusions, while the court would put an end to this case.
The president also said he would like this process to end as soon as possible.
"Even now I don't condemn Tymoshenko for the means of defense she chose. She is defending herself in the way she wants, and you can see that I'm not preventing her from doing this. She has become a star now, in this sense, maybe, not only in the history of Ukraine, but in other countries as well: she always appears [on TV], and she shows her attitude towards this," Yanukovych said.
