The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, has voted down a number of amendments to the bill on pension reform with regard to the maximum size of pensions in Ukraine.
Thus, the respective clauses of the government bill on pension reform passed at first reading on June 16 remained unchanged. The bill proposes limiting the maximum pension to ten living wages.
"The provision of the bill passed at first reading remains, which is ten living wages [as the maximum amount of a pension]," Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn said.
