The press secretary of the Ukrainian president, Darya Chepak, has headed an interagency working group to check the observance of legislation on freedom of speech and journalists rights protection.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed a decree about the establishment of the group on Wednesday.
The group is made up of Head of the State Committee on Television and Radio Broadcasting Oleksandr Kurdynovych, Head of the Main Department of Access to Public Information of the presidential administration and former spokesman for Yanukovych, Denys Ivanesko, Head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Ihor Liubchenko and Chief Editor of Ukrainska Pravda Internet publication Olena Prytula.
The group also includes representatives of the Interior Ministry, the State Guard Department, NGOs and MPs.
"I invite all the journalists and public figures to participate in this group, since its meetings will be open," Chepak said.
