Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov have discussed the state of the road and aviation infrastructure in the country.
"The Ukrainian president has always paid a great deal of attention to the infrastructure of our country. And the most important problem is roads. We need to urgently find sources and funds and make the roads of really good quality," Kolesnikov said after a meeting with the president, the presidential press service reported on Tuesday.
Kolesnikov said President Yanukovych had pointed to a number of measures that should produce a significant result.
"First and foremost, we are not talking about how to build roads, but how to finance and administer their construction. This issue requires serious consideration," he said.
While speaking about the construction of infrastructure in Ukraine as part of preparations for the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, Kolesnikov said Ukraine was fulfilling all of its obligations to UEFA in this regard.
The sides also considered the situation on the aviation market in Ukraine and ways to improve it.
