Ukraine to hand over PABSEC presidency to Albania
A session of the 37th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) will be held in Kyiv on June 30 through July 2, according to the Web site of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The meetings of the Bureau and the Standing Committee of the Assembly will take place on June 30.
A session of the 37th General Assembly of the BSEC will be held on July 1-2 at the Ukrainian parliament's session hall.
Members of national delegations will discuss issues of legislative support of the transition to green economy, the use of genetically modified organisms in the BSEC member countries in terms of economy and environment, the role of the parliaments in ensuring legislative support for scientific and technological progress, compliance with sanitary standards of the World Health Organization by the BSEC member countries.
The Assembly will also elect vice presidents and the leadership of the BSEC International Secretariat of the Assembly.
On July 2, Ukraine will handover the presidency of BSEC to Albania.
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn will hand over the presidency to Speaker of Albanian Parliament Jozefina Coba Topalli.
Ukraine took over the presidency of the PABSEC in November 2010.
