Patience, tolerance, respect keys to Transdniestrian conflict settlement, says Yanukovych
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych believes that patience, tolerance and respect are the keys to the Transdniestrian conflict settlement.
Answering questions from members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Yanukovych said that Ukraine has a clear and persistent position on the Transdniestrian conflict settlement, the presidential press service reported.
He recalled that Ukraine has been taking part in the negotiations on the conflict settlement in the 5+2 format.
According to Yanukovych, this dialog is based on the principles of the inviolability of the territories and norms of the existing international laws and conventions.
"I am convinced that the time will come when this work will achieve success. Participants of this process, should have patience, tolerance, and conduct the negotiations in a spirit of respect," the president said.
