A group of Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko (BYT) MPs, headed by faction leader Ivan Kyrylenko, has submitted to the Ukrainian parliament a bill on the dismissal of National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Governor Volodymyr Stelmakh and his First Deputy Head Anatoliy Shapovalov and on the appointment of the bank's acting head.
The respective bill was registered in parliament on Friday, but the text of this document has yet to be disclosed.
One of the document's authors told Interfax-Ukraine that NBU Deputy Head Oleksandr Savchenko, who is in charge of the currency exchange rate policy, is to be nominated as the bank's acting chairman.
