Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko has congratulated head of Ukrainian Orthodox Church under Kyiv Patriarchate Filaret on his 80th birthday.
The presidential press service reported this on Friday.
Yuschenko praised spiritual, educational and proselytizing activities of the patriarch aimed at the development of Ukraine's Orthodox Church and religious life in the state.
"I wish your wisdom continue contributing to the spiritual and national revival of Ukraine, the strengthening of mutual understanding, inter-confessional peace and accord in the society," Yuschenko wished Filaret.
