Ukraine's preparations to host the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship are going ahead on schedule, Ukrainian Family, Youth and Sports Minister Yuriy Pavlenko told the Interfax-Ukraine news agency in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"All preparations for Euro 2012 are going on in accordance with the schedule earlier established," he said.
Pavlenko also said that the assembly and building work at Ukraine's main football stadium - the Olympiysky National Sports Complex, at which the Euro 2012 final is to be held - are going on without interruptions.
"All work at the Olympiysky National Sports Complex is also going on without deviations [from the schedule]. Work at the National Sports Complex didn't even stop over the New Year's holidays," he said.
Pavlenko also said that now " the first stage of the assembly-building work is going on. The first [stage of] work at the stadium has been financed in full, there is all the necessary equipment and staff to carry out this work."
Pavlenko voiced hope that "the UEFA expert group, which is to come to Ukraine soon to inspect our work, will be satisfied by all that has been done, and will give a positive verdict."
