Tymoshenko says date of her visit to Brussels not yet agreed with EPP
Opposition Batkivschyna Party leader and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is banned from travelling outside Kyiv, has said that as soon as the date of her trip to Brussels is agreed with the leadership of the European People's Party she will file a relevant request to the Prosecutor General's Office.
"You know that it is holidays and not everyone is currently at work in Brussels. So the date of my trip is being agreed. As soon as the date of the trip is agreed with the leadership of the EPP, I will immediately file a relevant application," she told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday before the interrogation in the Main Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
When asked whether she expects the positive outcome for her request, Tymoshenko said that there is no reason to believe that she may avoid the investigation actions.
As reported, on December 29, 2010, EPP Secretary General Antonio Lopez-Isturiz invited Tymoshenko to visit Brussels in January 2011 in order to meet with leading European politicians.
