PGO searches for regional media reports of granting of Opel Combo cars by Tymoshenko to rural areas

In December Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office requested regional media to provide copies of video and newspaper reports on the granting of Opel Combo cars to rural hospitals by former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko and representatives of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, Chairman of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Organization "Independent Association of Journalists" Ivan Krasikov has said.

"In particular, the prosecutor's office sent a letter to the heads of the regional media with a request to inform as soon as possible whether there was the media coverage of the granting of Opel Combo cars or certificates from the Cabinet of Ministers on granting the abovementioned cars and distributing [them] to rural healthcare establishments, and to provide the respective materials," Krasikov informed.

According to him, the investigator of special cases of the Prosecutor General's Office charged the regional prosecutor's office with this task.

The press service of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office told Interfax-Ukraine that the respective letter was addressed to the heads of regional TV channels by order of the senior investigator of the PGO.

"The TV channels that covered these events have provided the necessary materials," Press Secretary of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office Yulia Doroshenko reported.
