A law establishing a state monopoly on the natural gas market would allow Ukraine to create its own version of Russia's Gazprom, the author of the draft law, Ex-Speaker Arseniy Yatseniuk, has said live on the Channel TV station.
"I proposed such draft law, under which Naftogaz Ukrainy, as a national joint stock company, is appointed as a single monopolist, which has to buy gas abroad, sell it to consumers and has a unique rights to export it," he said.
According to Yatseniuk, this law will remove the issue of the third parties in the gas sector.
Yatseniuk has registered a draft law on establishment of the state monopoly on the natural gas market in parliament.
