Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn believes that there will be no parliamentary election in Ukraine in 2011.
"There will be no election in fall of 2011 for the simple reason that if it happens, then we will have neither the Tax Code nor the state budget. We will again be producing populist laws, which then will not be fulfilled," Lytvyn said in an interview with the Rada TV Channel on Friday night, when asked, will there be parliamentary elections in 2011, as required by the Constitution of Ukraine.
The speaker stressed that "the society is tired of watching the debate of politicians and lawyers on which date is lawful."
"This is another attempt to divert people's attention from pressing economic and social issues," he said.
