Head of EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Pawel Kowal has said the European Parliament may again put off a vote on a resolution on Ukraine, which had earlier been postponed until November 10-11.
In an interview with Interfax-Ukraine on Friday, Kowal noted that such decisions are usually taken by the leaders of the parliamentary groups, but as the European Parliament is on its autumn recess, he cannot say whether there will be such a decision.
Kowal stressed that the postponement of the vote on the resolution was made not for political, but purely technical reasons.
"This is not a political decision. If we return to the resolution after the autumn recess, we will have an opportunity to prepare this document," he said explaining that he meant technical preparation of the document, its translation into other languages, etc.
According to the politician, next parliamentary session in Strasbourg will be the best time for the European Parliament to consider the document
"But this is not my decision, but the decision of the parliamentary groups," Kowal said.
As reported, on October 21, the European Parliament postponed a vote on the resolution on Ukraine until its plenary meeting in Brussels on November 10-11.
Representatives of the European Parliament in the draft resolution on Ukraine expressed their concern over the state of democratic freedoms, but at the same time they made no sharp criticisms of the Ukrainian government.
