Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has called for the development of national projects in priority areas.
"I insist that powerful national projects in such areas as farming industry, airspace sector, innovation infrastructure, humanitarian policy should be prepared soon," he said in Kyiv on Tuesday while opening a meeting of the task force in charge of the national projects of Ukraine's committee for economic reforms.
Yanukovych said that national projects would become a driving force for the development of the economy, and their implementation will be a part of the structural reform of the economy.
The president said that feasibility studies have been prepared for individual national projects, and they have entered the implementation stage.
According to Yanukovych, each national project has long-term strategic goals. The priority issues while considering the national projects is to create jobs for Ukrainians.
"Ukrainians will not be wandering the globe in search of work, and will have decent conditions for working at home," he said.
The president also stressed that the lion's share of funding for national projects should come from investment.
