The Regions Party is in the lead in the election to Kyiv Regional Council with some 23% of the vote, according to an exit poll conducted by GfK Ukraine.
The Front for Change came second with 11.4% of the vote.
The exit poll showed that the Batkivschyna party was third, though the party lead by ex-Premier Yulia Tymoshenko was withdrawn from the ballots and didn't in fact take part in the election to Kyiv Regional Council.
GfK Ukraine told Interfax-Ukraine that some respondents named Batkivschyna to pollsters anyway, either because the party's name wasn't removed from the ballots at some polling stations or because the voters said that they would have voted for this party had it been on the ballots.
According to the exit poll, the Strong Ukraine Party scored 7.8% of the vote, the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Association 7.6%, the UDAR Party 7.2%, the Our Ukraine Party 3.7% and the Communists Party 3.2%.
Some 11.9% of voters did not support any of the political forces, according to GfK Ukraine.
A total of 2,000 people were questioned for the exit poll. The margin of error is 3.6%.
The local election was conducted for the first time under a mixed proportional-majority system, with one half of the local council deputies to being elected on party lists, and the other half elected in single-member constituencies, although only local party organizations may nominate candidates for these constituencies.
