All international observers have started monitoring the local elections in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Sunday.
Head of the information policy department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleh Voloshyn said that the majority of the observers were concentrated in Odesa, Kharkiv and Kyiv region, but, in general, they are working in all regions of Ukraine, including the big regional centers and small towns.
"We hope that this will allow the world community to form an objective opinion about the election process in our country," he said.
Voloshyn stressed that, by order of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, the Foreign Ministry and other ministries and departments are assisting observers as much as possible, and territorial election commissions are also doing everything possible to help observers carry out their tasks properly.
