Experts believe that the upcoming local elections in Ukraine will be unprecedented.
"These elections can be characterized by one word 'unprecedented.' Unprecedented was the fact that the elections were rescheduled for an earlier date, as well as the introduction of amendments to the legislation in the course of the election campaign, unprecedented is the number of withdrawn candidate, the number of complaints on the use of administrative resource, which are coming from localities," the political analyst from the Gardarika Corporation Kostiantyn Matviyenko said during the talk show by the Radio Era FM at Interfax-Ukraine on Friday night
He noted that this is the most dirty election campaign over the whole history of Ukraine's independence.
In turn, political analyst Yevhen Kopatko said: "It will be an interesting event with an interesting outcome, that some parties that will get seats in separate city councils are not represented in the parliament and in regional councils."
Director of the Agency for Situations Modeling Vitaliy Bala, in turn, believes that the results of the upcoming local elections will not be crucial for Ukrainians. "They (the elections) are anything but crucial. Conventionally speaking they are decisive for the opponents of the ruling team. If now they are unable to prove themselves... others will replace them. They (the elections) are crucial for the five parties having seats in parliament, but not for us, not for citizens," he said.
According to Bala, at present neither politicians, nor ordinary citizens in Ukraine are ready for the majority election system.
