Ukrainian vessel Accord, detained in Georgian port of Poti on July 28 for illegally entering the waters of the breakaway Georgian region of Abkhazia, has been released.
The ship's crew consisted of eleven Ukrainians and one Russian citizen, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service said quoting Deputy Foreign Minister Ruslan Demchenko.
According to him, six Ukrainian sailors left the vessel on August 9 and returned home. Other sailors volunteered to stay on the vessel to maintain its operation.
Besides, the vessel's captain – Russian national was released from custody due to the efforts of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
The sailors are currently aboard the Accord ship. They are in good health and are provided with everything they need, the Foreign Ministry said.
On October 26, Tbilisi court decided to free the vessel. After the ruling takes effect, on November 9 the vessel will leave Georgia.
