2 min read

Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Pavel Fuchs has said that he is willing to be questioned by Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) and answer all questions.

Fuchs made the offer on his Telegram messaging channel.

"I found out that I needed to come to the PGO on July 16 as a witness for interrogation. I learned this from media after the scheduled interview," he said.

Fuchs said he did not receive a summons for interrogation.

"I did not receive a summons. I was not notified. The new appointment is August 22. I will definitely show up at the PGO and answer their questions," the businessman said.

As earlier reported, Ukraine's PGO has said it wants to question Fuchs, as indicated on its website.

"Mr. Fuchs Pavel Yakovlevich ... You need to appear on August 22, 2018 at 3:00 pm to participate in an interrogation pursuant to criminal proceeding No. 42017000000001533 as a witness," the notice reads on the PGO's website.

At the same time, law enforcement officers do not specify what exactly the case is about.

According to information from the register of court decisions, proceedings were opened in May 2017 "on assisting unidentified persons involved in a criminal organization."

As earlier reported, Fuchs said that in Ukraine it is necessary to make a number of unpopular, but necessary steps for the survival of the state: to lift the moratorium on the sale of land and to conduct privatization. Fuchs has also said that Ukraine's long-term rating at "B-" with a stable outlook, which was confirmed by the international rating agency Fitch, is a signal for investment.
