School children hospitalized after exposure to unknown gas in Kharkiv discharged from hospital - Governor

All school children in Kharkiv who were hospitalized to children's regional hospital No. 1 after exposure to unknown gas sprayed in their school have already been discharged, Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Yulia Svitlychna said.

"All children are already at home, there are no threats. The children will be under the control of doctors for some more days. They will undergo certain medical and rehabilitation procedures," Svitlychna wrote on Facebook on Tuesday evening.

She also expressed hope that law enforcement agencies would establish the causes and identify perpetrators of the incident as soon as possible. She confirmed that classes would resume on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, May 22, unknown gas was sprayed during a break at school No. 3 in Kharkiv. According to the police, 37 children applied for help to doctors, and 26 of them were sent to children's regional hospital No.1.

Criminal proceedings have been launched under Part 1 of Article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
