Kyiv cancer center gets new equipment worth UAH 80 mln from municipal budget

Kyiv City Clinical Cancer Center in December 2017 received medical equipment worth UAH 80 million, paid for out of the city budget.

The center received a computer tomography scan, General Electric's Discovery CT590 RT, for radiation therapy CT simulation. In addition, two ultra-sound devices for the minimally invasive surgery department that opened in November, as well as operating tables and other medical equipment were bought.

The previous time the center received new medical equipment was in 2017, the year it opened a center for nuclear medicine.

Reconstruction of the center's facilities began in 2017 and will continue this year.

Kyiv City Clinic Center was founded in 1947. It houses Ukraine's first nuclear medicine center for early cancer detection.

More than two dozen clinics are located at the center, which annually treats about 30,000 patients and carries out 7,000 operations. Some 4,000 patients receive chemotherapy and more than 4,000 receive radiation therapy.
