Operators of gas transport systems of Ukraine and Romania – Ukrtransgaz and SNTGN Transgaz SA – are drawing up a contract on cooperation in the Mediesu Aurit-Tekovo point, the press service of the Ukrainian operator has reported.
"In July 2016, the cooperation contract for the Isaccea 1 point using which natural gas is supplied to consumers in Bulgaria was signed. Now the operators are preparing for the signing of the contract for the Mediesu Aurit-Tekovo point, using which natural gas is delivered to consumers in Romania," the press service said.
The company said that from July 1 through September 1, 2017 consultations will be held.
"The draft cooperation contract envisages physical flow of natural gas on the Ukraine-Romania route and virtual flow on the Romania-Ukraine route. Now it is impossible to transport gas on the Romania-Ukraine route as the minimum gas pressure is required. POtentailly the operators are mulling the possibility of introducing the physical transportation from Romania to Ukraine," Ukrtransgaz said.
Ukrtransgaz, 100% owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities in the country.
